I’m sorry, but to me that dress is so iconic. And I loved it! To me it showed that while Ursula gave her nothing to cover herself with, King Triton gave her a gorgeous gown of sea foam as a way of saying “I love you and support your journey”.
Here, it’s the same dress she wore for the entire film.
And I get it. The dress probably symbolized her going back to the human world and that dress was a connection to it.
But…I mean… we all saw Cinderella’s dress… what if they had done a transition like the fairy godmother had done, and “Key it up a bit”?!
